…to the green bullet.

Highlights:

*** Friendly people
*** Exploring the temples of Angkor with the bikes
*** Understanding Cambodia’s recent history
*** listening to Captain Rick’s smuggling stories

Lowlights:

*** Tom on antibiotics again
*** Skankiest bathroom we have had during the entire trip
*** seeing disgusting old white men approaching young Asian girls

People met:

*** Florian and Julie from France: Very sweet people from Brittany, Florian was at the end of his 10 month world trip, Julie in between jobs, so chose to visit her uni friend for two weeks. We shared the van from Laos to Siem Reap with them and two days later did Angkor Wat with them.

*** French family (parents & 3 children): Also in the van to Siem Reap. I never found out their names, but found their story intersting, as the parents took a 4 months sabbatical each from work and released the children early from school (and taught them themselves) in order to spend more time together as a family.

*** Cécile from France: Engeneer student we shared the room with in Phnom Penh as well as the green bullet to the Killing Fields. Fairly quiet, but might be due to her age (20).

People met again:

*** Romain & Martine: Had dinner together in Siem Reap and randomly bumped into each other along the beach in Sihanoukville.

*** Captain Rick: Since Laos, we were in touch via email as he wanted to know how my foot infection was progressing. We ended up staying in the same hotel in Sihanoukville, had dinner and beers together one night and monitored his progress building a bar next to the marina’s tourist office.
