Island life on Gili Air

It’s been a couple of days since I have arrived at Gili Air, one of the three Gili Islands, just north of Lombok. The speed boat ride from Bali was hot and bumpy, to say the least. As the sea is still going quite strongly, boats currently only run in the mornings, as in the afternoons the wind picks up even more. With waves crashing against our boat and no air con or air ventilation, it wasn’t the most pleasant boat ride and me and everyone else was glad when after 2 hours we arrived at Gili Air. The view of the clear blue water definitely made up for it though!

Typical ‘spider boat’ (as I call them) floating at the shore
