Surreal volcanic landscapes in East Java

Made it to Cemoro Lawang via Probolingo by buying an inexpensive and easy local bus ride from Surabaya to Probolingo, where we avoided the first scam (not getting off at the fake bus terminal, but insisting on being brought to the real one), but couldn’t get around the second one: Transport to Probolingo was slightly overpriced, but thankfully we only had to wait for an hour until we were able to set off in a half full minivan. We found a simple guesthouse in Cemoro Lawang’s prime location, dumped our rucksacks, changed into our trainers and made our way to climb our first volcano: Mount Bromo.
